THE BEGINNING
Two friends, one obsession with how things are made
Vernelli Atelier started the way most small things start: with a complaint. We were two friends in our twenties who kept buying menswear that looked right in the photograph and felt wrong on the body. Seams that pulled after three washes. Wool that pilled in a season. Labels that charged a fortune for a story they had bought rather than lived.
So we stopped buying and started asking questions. What does this fabric actually weigh? Who finished this collar, and how long did it take? The answers were harder to get than they should have been — and that gap is where the brand began.

HOW WE WORK
Fewer pieces. Better answers.
We design slowly and release little. Each piece begins as a single sample that we wear ourselves for weeks before anyone else sees it — through commutes, dinners, bad weather and long days. If it does not survive that, it does not reach the collection.
What we care about is the quiet part of good clothing: the way a shoulder sits, the weight of a knit in the hand, the colour that still works in the fourth year. Nothing here is designed to be noticed immediately. It is designed to be kept.

WHERE WE ARE GOING
An atelier, not a catalogue
We are still small, and we are in no hurry to stop being small. Growth here means better mills, longer relationships with the people who make our clothes, and the freedom to say no to anything that does not belong.
If you are reading this early on, you are part of the first chapter. We would rather earn a hundred people who keep their Vernelli pieces for a decade than a hundred thousand who wear them once.
